Artist Bio
Jen is a Portland, Oregon-based artist best known for her emotionally resonant and gestural works rooted in Abstract Expressionism. Working across multiple mediums—including acrylic, oil, mixed media, and collage—her practice explores the interplay between memory, movement, and mood. Her paintings are celebrated for their layered textures, intuitive mark-making, and evocative color palettes that invite viewers into a space of reflection and emotional depth.
Jen’s subject matter often draws from personal and collective experiences, with recurring themes of transformation, resilience, and the unseen emotional landscapes we carry. Her series “Dancing Alone” and “Field Notes from the Interior” delve into the tension between chaos and clarity, fragility and fortitude, using abstraction as a language for healing and inquiry. These bodies of work reflect her commitment to storytelling and depth, often incorporating found materials and poetic fragments that speak to impermanence and renewal.
Her work has been exhibited in regional galleries and community-centered spaces throughout Oregon, with pieces held in private collections across the Pacific Northwest. Jen leads a variety of collaborative community projects and inclusive programming that center on belonging and connection through the arts.
